Problem

This LG DLE6100 Dryer is not turning on.

Customer had electrical work done. Dryer stopped working immediately after.

What I've Tried

  1. Tested voltage: I measured 240v at the terminal between L1 and L2.
  2. Tested Fuses: Tested continuity at the fuses and thermostats. Tests okay.
  3. Replaced Main Control: I went ahead and replaced the main control, perhaps the electrical work caused a power surge. However the problem persists.

What else would be causing this? It would be unfortunate if I got a bad board.

Expected Behavior

The dryer should turn on when pressing the power button.

Actual Behavior

Dryer is completely unresponsive.

Additional Information

  • Logs or Error Messages: No error messages or fault codes displayed

Explanation

This issue is most likely caused by a bad power supply.

Since previous electrical work mentioned, it is always good to check for power at the terminal first.

  1. L1 - L2 should read 240v.
  2. L1 - N should read 120v.
  3. L2 - N should read 120v.

If you have different results, the dryer is not at fault.

Steps to Resolve

This is outside the scope of appliance repair.

Recommend contacting an electrician.

Additional Tips

  • Always check for power first thing. Ensure each line is providing correct voltage.

TLDR

Bad power supply, contact electrician.
