Problem

Our duet washer is giving an F3E1 error during the cycle. I believe this code refers to a water pressure switch/sensor fault.

What I Tried

  1. Replaced Pressure Switch: After replacing the pressure switch P/N WPW10448876, the error seemed to have gone away, however after about five loads, the error message occurred again.
  2. Blew Through Pressure Hose: After blowing through the pressure hose into the tub, (not into the pressure switch), it would let me get through a few loads before the error occurs again.
  3. Called a Tech: The appliance tech ran a quick diagnostic and thought the pressure switch was bad. This switch is brand new, he then said it could be a main control.

What the Machine is Doing

The washer is giving an F3E1 error.

What the Washer should be doing

Run through the entire cycle without any errors.

Explanation

I located a service bulletin from Whirlpool for this error code. It suggests updating the air trap assembly aka Air Dome assembly. The manufacturer has replaced part number W10626116 with W10903220.

Here is a video for how to replace the air dome.

The replacement air dome is slightly different than the original, it looks like the internal rubber extension portion has been eliminated.
