Problem

I'm trying to troubleshoot a slow drip (say one drip per 3 - 5 min) from my water dispenser on my Kenmore Elite 106.57799700.

What I've Tried

  1. Replaced Inlet Valve: Upon doing some research, most people seemed to point to the water inlet valve citing a bad solenoid or build up of calcium deposits not allowing it to fully close. So I replaced the water inlet valve P/N: WPW10159839. The problem persists.
  2. Remove Water Filter and Flushed the System: I removed the water filter (2 months old) and flushed with 2 - 3 gallons of water. Problem persists.
  3. Replaced the Water Filter: I replaced the water filter and flushed another 2 - 3 gallons of water. Problem persists.
  4. Soaked Water Nozzle: I disassembled the front panel and soaked the dispenser water nozzle in vinegar (Problem persists, but needed a good cleaning anyways).

What the Dispenser is Doing

The dispenser has a slow drip, even when not in use.

What the dispenser should be doing

The dispenser should not be leaking any water.

Question

What would cause my dispenser to have a slow leak after all of this troubleshooting?

Type: Refrigerator

Brand: Kenmore

Model: 106.57799700

Explanation

The problem is most likely your Water Tank P/N: 2304880.

How To Resolve

  1. It looks like this part is unavailable, so you can either jump it or buy a coil of line from home depot if you want the cold water.
  2. Remove the old reservoir and install the new line, you can use some john guest fittings.
